The New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, in Nigeria says it has suspended Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf of Kano State Northwest Nigeria.
The National Secretary Mr. Oginni Olaposi who made the statement at the NNPP National Secretariat in Abuja Nigeria’s capital said that Governor Yusuf has violated article 39.6 of the party’s constitution for not appearing before a disciplinary Committee set against him on Monday, April 15th this year.
Mr. Olaposi further explained that Abba Yusuf who is the only governor elected under the platform of the NNPP attended a National Convention organised by a faction of the party led by the Kwankwasiya movement held on April 6th, 2024.
The National Secretary said that the six Months suspension on the Kano State Governor was a testament that the party is supreme to it members.
He added that governor Abba Yusuf was availed with opportunity to resolve the issues being investigated about allegations of gross misconduct, but he failed to take advantage of it.
