No Decision Made Yet On Tobi Amusan – World Athletics
Nigeria’s World Record holder, Tobi Amusan, has not yet been cleared to compete at next week’s World Athletics Championships, said athletics’ governing body, World Athletics.
The competition is scheduled to hold between August 19th – 27th, 2023 in Budapest, Hungary.
“Please be advised – reports appearing in Nigeria that say Tobi Amusan has been cleared to compete in Budapest are wrong,” said World Athletics Head of Communications, Nicole Jeffery.
“No decision has been made in this case yet. When a decision is made, it will be announced by the Athletics Integrity Unit.”

However, it appears that some corners of the media misinterpreted the inclusion of Amusan’s name on the entry list, pending the AIU decision to mean that she had been cleared already.
A decision is expected to be made before the commencement of the Championships.
