Leicester City coach, Enzo Maresca, has ruled out an exit for the duo Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho when the transfer window reopens in January.

Both players have one year left on their current contract and were linked with several clubs before the summer transfer window was shut.

Ndidi was heavily linked with a move to Nottingham Forest and Fenerbahce while Iheanacho reportedly had offers from Crystal Palace, West Ham and Inter Milan.

However, Maresca, sees Ndidi as indispensable and integral to his squad, as he aims to guide the 2016 English Premier League winners back to the top flight following their relegation last season.

“These players’ futures will be resolved in no time,” Maresca replied when asked about the future of Ndidi and Iheanacho.

“They are key players and we will see what happens in January but I don’t see them (Ndidi and Iheanacho) leaving except for international duty.”

Ndidi’s new found form has seen him become an integral part of Maresca’s plans despite being deployed in the No.8 role at the club.

This new role has seen him make seven goal contributions (three goals, four assists) in 14 appearances across all competitions.

While Iheanacho has also been impressive scoring four times and making an assist in 11 league appearances.

Meanwhile, Ndidi was named joint winner alongside Stephy Mavididi for Leicester City’s Goal of the Month for September.

The Nigerian midfielder and his English counterpart won 26 per cent of the votes cast to beat other competitors.

It was Ndidi’s strike against Southampton that was deemed the joint-best goal scored by any Leicester City player last month.

The 26-year-old goal against the Saints came towards the end of the first half when he sat his marker on his backside before slotting the ball into the net.

Mavididi also got his goal against Southampton when he raced from Leicester City’s half and beat his marker before putting the ball into the bottom left corner.
