Nollywood Actor, Chiwetalu Agu, released from DSS custody

Nollywood Actor, Mr. Chiwetalu Agu who has been in Department of State Services, DSS, detention facility for about a  week, for allegedly wearing an attire with the inscription of a rising sun (a symbol popularly known to be the logo of Biafra agitators) and inciting members of the public, has been released by the Nigerian Secret Service.
This was disclosed to Voice of Nigeria by the Counsel to Mr. Agu, Mr. Mike Ozekhome, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
According to him, Mr. Agu was released after intervention by Mike Ozekhome ‘s chambers which had been briefed by the Nigerian Guild of Actors to take up Mr. Agu’ s defence pro-bono.
“Mr Agu had argued that he had committed no known offence, as he was merely wearing an attire with the rising sun and distributing ten thousand naira worth of bread he had bought, to the  poor and hungry,” Ozekhome stated
“Agu was released this evening to Eboh and Monalisa Chinda, Director of Media, Actors Guild of Nigeria, by the DSS at their headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria’s Capital, after a careful search on his phones showed nothing incriminating,” Mr. Ozekhome added.
Mr. Ozekhome also said that Chiwetalu Agu in company of Steve Eboh, later paid him a courtesy call  at his Abuja Chambers, to thank him and his team and for ensuring that his release.
