Nollywood Actress, Jennifer Eliogu, Others Honoured In Anambra State 

Nollywood actress and singer, Jennifer Eliogu was recently honoured in Anambra State alongside Peter Cardinal Ebere Okpalaeke(Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese), Dr Emeka Uzoeto( Chairman,1st Homes Ltd) Chief Darlington Nwabunike (Founder and President, De Imperial philanthropic family) Azubike Emodi (Anchoria Asset Management company Limited), were conferred with awards at the Anambra Man of the Year (AMTY )Awards for their innovation and impacts in diverse areas as well as contributions to the betterment of the society.

The award event which was the 3rd in the series was chaired by Professor Emeka Ezeonu, Harvard trained dual Professor of Chemistry/ Pharmacy. Professor Ezeonu is equally former INEC REC and pioneer Vice-Chancellor ,Hezekiah University,Umudi. The keynote was delivered by the first female rector, Federal Polytechnic Oko , Anambra State, Engr Dr. Unoma Nwafulugo. She spoke on the theme: “Gbakotanu Ka Anyị Dozie Obodo Dike,” which translates “Come Together Let Us Develop the Land of the Great.”

She maintained that nurturing a tech-savvy environment will position the state as a hub of innovation and attract investments and talents that will propel it into a prosperous future.

Nwafulugo also mentioned the provision of infrastructural facilities at rural levels, investing in education, improving security, and building accessible healthcare as key elements in securing a bright and prosperous future for the state.

Appreciating the organizers of the event ,actress and singer, Jenifer Eliogu, advised young ones in the movie industry that the only way they can be relevant in the industry is to harness their talents.

Sharing her thoughts on actresses that often flaunt their bodies, the entertainer said, “Exceptional talent, (not nudity) is what guarantees one’s relevance in this industry; we all come to that realisation over time.”

Accepting the award, Bishop Okpaleke, thanked the organizers for the honour and for recognising his work for God and humanity. The Bishop received the award through Fr. Prof Anthony B.C Chiegboka, the Vatican General of Ekwulobia Diocese.

The National Chairman,African Democratic Congress, Chief Okey Nwosu, equally received award as political Icon of the Decade, Former PDP Governorship candidate in Anambra State ,Mr Val Ozigbo, Chief Ugochukwu Okeke(Enyioha)Actor Ken Erics,NLC Chairman Anambra State, NUJ chairman Anambra State were also honoured.
