Nollywood powerhouses Inkblot Studios and Filmhouse Group are set to unveil KAVA, an innovative streaming platform dedicated entirely to Nollywood films and African storytelling.
The announcement was made in a joint Instagram post by both companies, revealing that the platform will officially launch globally in August 2025.
According to the post, KAVA will release new content weekly, offering viewers around the world a steady stream of fresh, cinema-quality entertainment.
The statement reads:
“KAVA: The first global streaming platform for Nollywood, powered by Inkblot Studios and Filmhouse Group.
Nollywood is the world’s second-largest film industry. But until now, it hasn’t had its own global streaming home. KAVA changes that.”
They revealed that KAVA will debut with over 30 premium Nollywood titles, including Queen Lateefah, House Job, Alakada: Bad and Bougie, Owambe Thieves, What About Us, among others.

According to the creators, KAVA is designed to redefine how African stories are told, shared, and celebrated. It aims to centralise Nollywood content, providing a unified global platform for Nigerian stories while offering fair compensation to creators.
The launch of KAVA, an indigenous streaming service, comes at a time when international streaming giants continue to dominate global film distribution.
KAVA is set to spotlight authentic African narratives and provide a much-needed home for Nigerian content, ensuring that Nollywood not only thrives but also reaches wider audiences and tells its stories on its own terms.
