Nigerian Movie star, Nze Stephen Anajemba (aka Uwaezuoke), has urged indigenes and residents of Anambra central senatorial zone to ensure the candidate of New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, Barrister Helen Ifeoma Mbakwe, wins Saturday Senatorial election to represent the people of Anambra Central, in Anambra state.
According to Comrade Anajemba, Barrister Mbakwe remains the best among all the candidates aspiring to represent Anambra central senatorial zone and therefore, should be voted in without further reservations.
He spoke at different fora during the campaign tour of Princess Mbakwe, urging all within voting age to ensure Princess Mbakwe is elected as Senator of the Federal Republic as she is going to serve with equity, fairness and justice.
This is coming as the senatorial candidate of New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, for the 2023 Anambra central senatorial election, Barrister Helen Ifeoma Mbakwe reiterated that she remains the best to serve Anambra central senatorial zone, pleading that electorate de-emphasise money politics and vote her for capacity and excellence.
Speaking during the De MACE Debate, Anambra Political Dialogue, organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ Anambra State Council led by Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu and her partners, RATTAWU, SEJUP and Bring it on Africa, Barrister, Helen Ifeoma Mbakwe said that the red chamber is ‘where we make laws’.
She pledged that if elected to the red chamber, she will make sure the laws work, adding that the red chamber is ‘ where we supervise any activity of the government’.
She noted that the major reason for problems in the country is that our laws are not working, which is one of the reasons she’s aspiring to find out why those laws are not working and to make sure that the laws work. If the law works lots of ills in Nigeria will drop or stop.
Furthermore, she said that being in the red chamber or part of the National Assembly is not just for bringing out new bills or sponsoring new bills but we need to make sure the available bills/laws work and to know why we are not abiding by our laws. If the laws are working we can arrest bribery and corruption in Nigeria but when those laws are not working and we keep on sponsoring new bills, it will not add any value to the nation.
According to Mbakwe, “the most important thing is to make sure I am always at the plenary of the senate, making sure that I am always there to represent, to give the people effective representation, to always be at the town hall meetings, to seek what the people want, and I have taken time to study the people and found out that people are passing through hunger and there is anything lack of government in the personal welfare of the people”.
She further stated that she will ensure that the schools from nursery, primary, and secondary, would be centralised to bring a comfortable environment and to add positive impacts that will make our district different, make sure that mechanized machines would be brought out to the subsistence and commercial farmers to make the farm more produce from their farms and many more.
Mbakwe who is also the president of the 3Fs (Foundation for Family) Empowerment and Development (formerly Feed the Family Foundation), said she desired to join the youth in taking back Nigeria and in effect, usher in a new and working district, by representing Anambra central in the Red chambers come February 25, 2023, election.
