North Central Development Commission: Benue State Residents hail President Tinubu

Benue residents have showered accolades on President Bola Tinubu for the creation of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), aimed at fostering rural development in the region.
The move was praised as a crucial step towards addressing various challenges facing the region, including infrastructure, security, and economic empowerment.
Speaking to newsmen in Makurdi, Mr. Stephen Numbeve, State Coordinator of the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) welcomed the initiative, highlighting the potential benefits it would bring to the region.
He commended President Tinubu for recognizing the need for a dedicated commission to drive sustainable growth in North Central Nigeria.
Numbeve emphasized the importance of collaboration between government bodies and private sector stakeholders for the effective implementation of the commission’s mandate.
He also expressed gratitude for the potential establishment of the Commission’s headquarters in Benue State, which would provide access to development opportunities that were previously lacking.
While emphasising that the focus of the Commission on rural development was deemed promising, he added that ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable populations, such as internally displaced persons (IDPs), remained a top priority.
Numbeve maintained that leveraging the expertise and resources of the NCDC, Benue State was poised to make significant strides towards sustainable development.
The partnership between Benue State and the NCDC he explained was expected to yield positive impacts and lasting solutions to pressing challenges in the region.
The establishment of the North Central Development Commission has been hailed as a milestone in driving progress and transformation in Benue State.
It would be recalled that during Tuesday’s, plenary the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio announced that President Tinubu had signed into law the North Central Development Commission.
The Bill was sponsored by Senator Abba Moro (PDP) representing Benue South Senatorial District.
