The Northern Governors’ Forum has support the Kaduna State Government and victims of the Kaduna bombing with the sum of N180 million.

The forum announced this in the communique signed by the Chairman and Governor of Gombe State Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya at the end of their inaugural meeting held in Kaduna.

The Forum commiserated with the Government and people of Kaduna State over the unfortunate bombing incident at the Tudun Biri Community of Igabi Local Government Area that claimed lives and left many others hospitalised.

“Your excellencies and colleagues, distinguished members of the press, as you can see, we are presenting our support to the victims of Tundun Biri [accident] and the Kaduna state government to further support them

“On behalf of the Northern Governors’ Forum, we hereby make this donation so that the government of Kaduna State will use it to support the victims,” the Chairman of the Forum and Gombe State Governor Inuwa Yahaya said

The forum also resolved to work collectively to ensure that the tragic incident is thoroughly investigated with a view to compensating victims and taking corrective measures to prevent future occurrence.

The NGF further commended the Nigerian Government for tackling insecurity, kidnaping, banditry, communal clashes and terrorism

It would be recalled that Vice President Kashim Shettima visited the victims of the attack at the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital in the Kaduna State capital and reiterated the government’s resolve to punish anyone found culpable in the bombing.

“It is already directed by Mr President, an investigation is being conducted with a view to preventing a re-occurrence of the incident and we expect a report to be submitted in the shortest possible time,” Shettima added.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) visited the site on the heels of the air strike and apologised for the development, describing it as regrettable.
