The Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has extended warm felicitations to former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (Rtd), as he marks his 91st birthday.
Speaking on behalf of the Northern Governors, Governor Yahaya hailed General Gowon as a revered statesman and symbol of national unity, whose visionary leadership helped shape Nigeria’s history.
“General Gowon’s unwavering dedication to peace, nation-building, and unity remains a beacon of hope and inspiration, commending his tireless efforts through initiatives like Nigeria Prays,” said the NSGF Chairman.
He also praised the former leader’s humility, patriotism and moral leadership, describing his life as a model of selfless service to the nation.
“On this special occasion, the Northern Governors join all Nigerians in celebrating a leader whose wisdom and integrity continue to guide our nation toward peace and progress. We pray for his continued health, happiness, and God’s blessings,” he added.
