Nottingham Forest confirms Dennis’s injury
English Premier League side Nottingham Forest has confirmed the injury of Nigerian striker Emmanuel Dennis.
The Nigerian was billed to feature for the Super Eagles against Algeria in a friendly next week.
He was replaced with a new invitee Gift Saviour.
May fans raised alarm that Dennis feigned injury to avoid playing for the Nigerian team.
But in a short message, Forest said: “Taiwo Awoniyi has been called up to the Nigeria squad for their friendly against Algeria on Tuesday 27th September, 8pm kick-off UK time. Emmanuel Dennis, meanwhile, has withdrawn due to injury.”
Dennis was a replacement for winger, Henry Onyekuru but is now confirmed out as well.
