NPFL: Rangers International Holds Enyimba In Aba

In a thrilling oriental derby, Enyimba FC were held to a 1-1 draw with rivals Rangers International on Match Day 15 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba, Abia State.

Enyimba opened the scoring through Chijioke Mbaoma with a header in the 12th minute, marking his fifth goal of the season for the Aba giants. Both sides created chances but the scoreline was 1-0 by halftime.

Late in the second half, Rangers fought back and equalised thanks to its sheer resilience. Kazeem Ogunleye dispossessed Enyimba’s Daniel Daga outside the box and calmly slotted the ball past goalkeeper Ojo Olorunleke. 1-1!

Rangers almost snatched a late victory in added time, but goalkeeper Olorunleke made a crucial save to deny Auwalu Nasiru as the matched finished 1-1.

In another match day 15 fixture held at the Pantami Township Stadium, Doma United secured a 1-0 victory against Heartland Owerri to move two (2) points clear at the top of the NPFL table.
