NPFL: Rangers Target Bayelsa Win After Ikorodu Victory

Rangers International FC head coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, is hoping to build on their 2-0 victory over Ikorodu City as they make the trip to Yenagoa, where they face Bayelsa United in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.

Ilechukwu’s men saw off City 2-0 last matchday with Godwin Obaje and Isaac Saviour scoring the goals.

The former Heartland and Plateau United coach has his eyes are set on finishing the campaign strong in a season they are defending the title.

The Rangers boss also played down talks of pressure in the defence of their title in the wake of inconsistent performances.

“No doubt, we are going to build on the win we achieved against Ikorodu City at home and push for a positive finish to our campaign this season,” coach Ilechukwu said.

“Sure, we are not under any pressure again and the boys understand what is at stake as defending champions. I believe in their abilities to deliver the goods hence forth.”

Rangers face Bayelsa United this Sunday at the Samson Siasia Stadium in Yenagoa from 4pm.
