The defending champions of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Rivers United, suffered its first defeat of the season after falling 2-1 against Doma United on Sunday.
Stanley Eguma’s side scored the first goal of the match as Denis Ndasi put Rivers United ahead in the 25th minute. However, the lead lasted only for nine minutes before Usman Musa levelled things for Doma United.
Musa then put the home team ahead for the first time in the game, putting the ball into the net in the 68th minute to give Doma United the advantage in the encounter.

Following Rivers United’s defeat to Doma United, Bendel Insurance remains the only unbeaten side so far in the NPFL.
