NPFL Signs MoU to Boost Revenue, League Standards

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) to boost revenue generation and League standards.

The MoU which was signed on Wednesday in Abuja will give exclusive data management and commercialization rights of the NPFL to In view Technologies Nigeria Limited and A.S. Production Hub Limited.

Another company involved in the Strategic Partnership Agreement is Round-Up Technologies Limited.

The Chairman of the NPFL Board, Mr. Gbenga Elegbeleye confirmed that an annual projection of 2 billion naira with 800 million naira initial payment was agreed for the five-year duration of the contract.

Addressing the stakeholders at the Agreement Signing Ceremony, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau, appealed to Nigerians especially football fans, “to exercise more patience with the football administrators as they intensify efforts towards improving the standards of the League.

Football is about revenue and we are working hard to ensure that our League revenue becomes better than what it is now”. 

“Infrastructure development is another area we are doing our best to put in better shape. And we are training our people to ensure that when infrastructure is put in place, they are properly maintained to serve the purpose of putting them in the first place” he said.

The Executive Director of GTI Assets management – an Assets & financial management services – Mr. Nelson Ineh, gave insight into the role of the company in sustaining the NPFL.

We are the burden bearers of the League. GTI has been the one paying the bills of the Referees, including accommodations and other requirements during match days in the past four years”, he explained.

It was a dream that has been long coming and we thank God as well as the NPFL for giving us the opportunity to live out this dream. 

“It is our desire that Nigerians begin to think more of partnerships because football more than any other human endeavour, is not a one man show. Football thrives most when all stakeholders are partnering to ensure the success of the game as a business that it is” he said.
