The Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) says its men, while on patrol in Zaria, Kaduna State, arrested a motorcyclist, Auwalu Ahmed, carrying a bag loaded with arms and ammunition while one other is at large.
The State Commandant, Mr Nuhu Bello, disclosed while parading the suspect before newsmen at the Command’s headquarters in Kaduna.
Mr. Nuhu Bello explained that the suspect was arrested conveying 7.62 x and 39mm ammunition numbering 440 with twenty empty AK magazines.
According to him, the command’s operatives are still on the search for his cohorts, while an investigation is ongoing on the arrested suspect, stressing that upon the conclusion of the investigation, the law would take its full wrath on him.

Bello warned all criminal elements in the state to repent or be ready to face justice, as the command would arrest them and bring them to book.
The Commandant urged all law-abiding citizens to go about their lawful business and report any suspicious activities to security agencies so as to make Kaduna, a crime-free state.
Bello commended the Commandant General of the Corps as well as Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State for their continuous support to the corps to be up to date with modern security apparatus in order to confront present-day challenges.
