In a continued effort to ensure effective security coverage in the Nigeria”s Federal Capital Territory FCT, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC has commissioned its security out post in Leisure Court Estate, Lugbe, a suburb of the Nigeria, Capital Territory, Abuja.
The Office is the third in the series of divisional command and security outposts structures of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), FCT Command under lthe leadership of Dr. Olusola Odumosu, the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Federal Capital Territory Command.
The new outpost is expected to provide security to the lives and property of the occupants of the Estate and its environment.
Adequate security
Commissioning the office,the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps , Federal Capital Territory Command, Dr. Olusola Odumosu remarked that the Corps is determined to ensure that adequate security is provided to the people in the FCT at any given time as strategic operational action plans have been put in place by his administration for effective service delivery.
“Some few months back, our visionary leader, the Commandant General, Professor Ahmed Audi commissioned the Bwari and Kwali Divisional offices, this moment is not only a testament to the unwavering commitment of the NSCDC to safeguarding our communities but also a significant stride towards enhancing security in our beloved Territory,” he said.
Dr.Odumosu while commending the collaborative efforts by the management of the Estate by Donating the office building assured that with the collaboration of other security agencies, the people will sleep with their two eyes closed.
“The commissioning of this outpost is not just about celebrating the erection of a building; it symbolises our resolve to create a safer environment for every citizen in the FCT regardless of location. With urbanization and the rapid growth of population, the challenges of security have become more complex. We are faced with new threats that requires innovative and proactive solutions, “he noted.
The the FCT Commandant emphasized that the outpost is strategically positioned to respond swiftly to security challenges and to engage with the community effectively and would serve as a base for the officers to monitor activities in the area, support neighborhood watch programs, and foster a spirit of cooperation between the NSCDC and the communities they serve.
“In our journey towards enhancing security, we recognise that community engagement is paramount. Together, we can create a formidable partnership that allows us to detect and prevent crimes before they occur. Through various awareness programs, and regular dialogue with communities, and stakeholders, we aim to strengthen the bond between the NSCDC and the citizens we are sworn to protect,“he said.
Proactive measures
He urged all officers and men that will be stationed at the new outpost to embody the core values of integrity, professionalism, and dedication as their success is measured not only by their ability to respond to incidents but also by their proactive measures to educate and empower citizens about their roles in maintaining security.
Odumosu however reiterate their commitment to serving the nation and upholding the ideals of the NSCDC and promised that it stand as a beacon of security, hope, safety, and community collaboration.
