The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ahmed Audi, commissioned the newly renovated NSCDC FCT Command Headquarters Quarter Guard on Wednesday.

Addressing the officers and men of the command after the inauguration, Audi urged them to avoid inter-agency rivalry and strengthen cooperation between security agencies.

He encouraged the personnel to respect boundaries and take advantage of the existing relationships between agencies.

“Don’t envy your brothers; rather, leverage the experiences of officers and agencies that have been in service for years and learn from them,” Audi stated.

He emphasised the importance of humility, cautioning against intimidating others and stressing that accidental discharge is not acceptable according to the corps’ standard operating procedures.

Audi also urged the officers to remain dedicated to their duties, particularly in protecting Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI).

During the inauguration of the quarter guard, Audi explained that the “quarter guard” symbolised regimental discipline, essential for maintaining the corps’ image.

He noted that it is a highly regimented exercise used to commission dignitaries during visits, and encouraged the officers to use it effectively to portray the service positively.

He commended the NSCDC FCT Commandant, Olusola Odumosu, for his exemplary leadership in positioning the Corps strategically within the territory.

“As a leader, you should impact the lives of your subordinates. Mr. Odumosu knows where he is going, and the management of the corps is proud of you and will continue to support you,” Audi concluded.
