Equities trading on the floor of the Nigeria Stock Exchange, NSE, appreciated by 0.99 per cent at the end of business on Wednesday amid bargain hunting.
The market capitalisation of listed equities increased by N199 billion to close at N20.449 trillion higher than Tuesday’s N20 250 trillion.
Similarly the all share index stood at 0.99 per cent or 380.81 basis points to close at 39,085.78 from 38,704.97 recorded on Tuesday.
Investors transacted on 361, 90 million shares in 4, 018 deals.
Market sentiment when measured by market breath was positive ae 21 stocks appreciated against 17 losers.
Leading the gainers table, Stabic IBTC emerged tops with a 9.99 per cent gain on its share price to close at N48.45 kobo.
NPF Micro Finance Bank Plc followed with a 9.60 per cent on its share price to close at N1.94 kobo while Cornest had 8.93 per cent to close at N0.61 kobo.
On the flipside, MRS declined with a 9.70 per cent on its share price to close at N12.10 kobo.
Wapic Insurance followed with a loss of 9 09 per cent on its share price to close at N0.50 kobo while Wapco Nigeria Plc had a 7.11 per cent loss on its share price to close at N20.90 kobo.
