The equities market has sustained its bullish growth on the floor of Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), closing on Wednesday with a 2.40% gain, following buying interests in large-caps stocks, i.e, AIRTEL AFRICA PLC, BUA CEMENT PLC and NIGERIA BREWERIES PLC stocks.
At the close of the trading activities, the Market Capitalization stood at 20,281 trillion Naira, gaining on previous closing of 19,805 trillion Naira by 476 billion Naira or 2.40 percent.
Likewise, the All Share Index advanced from 37,893.61 basis points to 38,803.74 basis points by 910.13 basis points or 2.40 percent.
The total volume of trades increased by 238.6% to 1.50 billion units, valued at N18.75 billion, and exchanged in 4,316 deals.
ACCESS BANK PLC was the most traded stock by volume and value at 1.04 billion units and N8.40 billion, respectively.
Looking at sectoral performance, the Industrial Goods index grew by 3.1%, Consumer Goods index grew 0.4% and Banking index grew 0.2%, while the Insurance index fell by 0.8% as the Oil & Gas index closed flat.
Market sentiment, as measured by market breadth, was positive as 24 stocks gained, relative to 7 losers.
At the top of the gainers table is ASSOCIATED BUS COMPANY PLC with an opening price of 0.30k per share and a closing selling price of 0.33k per share, gaining 0.03k or 10.00 percent.
Next is JAPAUL GOLD & VENTURES PLC which gained 0.04k or 10.00 percent after advancing from 0.40k per share to close at 0.44k per share.
While AIRTEL AFRICA PLC closed at N851.80k per share from N774.40k per share on Tuesday, gaining N77.40k or 9.99 percent.
On the reverse side, FCMB GROUP PLC led the declines with a fall from N3.02k per share to N2.90k per share by 0.12k or 3.97 percent followed by PZ CUSSONS NIGERIA PLC, with a fall from N5.50k per share to N5.30k per share by 0.20k or 3.64 percent.
And LASACO ASSURANCE PLC declined by 0.01k or 3.13 percent from 0.32k per share to close on Wednesday at 0.31k per share.
