NSF Edo 2020: We Are Hosting To Give Youths A Chance – Governor Obaseki

Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki says the state is hosting the National Sports Festival to give youths a chance to perform maximally and improve on their talent as far as sports is concern.
The governor said this while receiving the unity torch which signifies the commencement of the biannual event at the Edo state government house.
He said that “sports brings people together from diverse religion, ethnic, regional and social strata.
“Sporting activities unites more than any other thing, so we need it for the general progress and the development of our country,” he reiterated.
Governor Obaseki thanked the people of Edo state for their hospitality to the participating athletes and urge them to continue observing COVID-19 protocols for Nigeria to be free of the virus.
“Despite coronavirus pandemic which lead to several postponement of this event, Edo state is now taking the challenge.
” We want to use this hosting right to make a very big statement, that life must continue” the governor added.
The event which drew participants from all the states of the federation and FCT will be officially declared open on the 6th of April 2021 and closes on 14th of the same month.
