The Director General of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), Mr. Yusuf Buba Yakub, has extended his condolences over the loss of Nigeria’s immediate past President, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd), who passed away at the age of 82.
In a heartfelt condolence shared with the public through his Special Assistant for Media and Publicity, Mr. Nkem Anyata, the former lawmaker reflected on the profound sadness felt by the nation following the unexpected death of a man who dedicated his life to serving Nigeria as a soldier, politician, mentor, and nationalist.
Buba emphasized that the memory of the late leader would remain alive in the hearts of Nigerians who knew him and in the stories of his incorruptibility and commitment to service that future generations will read about. He conveyed his deepest sympathies to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the late President’s family, and all Nigerians.
“On behalf of the Nigerian Technical Aid Corps (NTAC) and its Management, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, government, and the citizens of Nigeria, under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on the demise of former President Muhammadu Buhari,” Mr. Buba stated.
“While we mourn this great soldier, nationalist, and leader, we honor his unwavering dedication to democracy, regional stability, and national unity, as well as his steadfast commitment to the anti-corruption movement, which endeared him to many Nigerians,” the DG said.
The NTAC Director General prayed for forgiveness for one of Nigeria’s most beloved political figures, stating:
“May Allah grant him Aljana firdausi and provide his family and all Nigerians with the strength to bear this loss.”
Born in Daura, Katsina State, North-Western Nigeria, in 1942, former President Muhammadu Buhari distinguished himself through his exemplary service as a soldier, politician, and national hero.
Having served twice as Nigeria’s leader and held various key positions, including Federal Commissioner of Petroleum and Military Governor of what is now the Northeast Geopolitical Zone, Buhari was recognized for his integrity and commitment to service.
He will be remembered more for the principles he embodied in leadership than for any physical monuments.
