Nigerian star Emmanuel Micheal has been crowned champion of the 46th NTF-CBN Senior Open Tennis Championship held in Abuja.
Micheal won the men singles final 7-6, 3-6, 6-2, defeating Ikenna Okonkwo in a final that lasted over 3 hours at the centre court of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

The interesting game saw both players showcasing resilience and tactical brilliance throughout the three sets.
In the women’s category, Adesuwa Osabuohien came from behind to defeat Emmanuel Essien 2-1 in a rain-interrupted final earlier on Saturday.
After the rain, Osabuohien rallied to win the game 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 and claim the coveted title.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the President of the Nigeria Tennis Federation (NTF), Ifeadayo Akindoju, applauded the Central Bank of Nigeria for its steadfast commitment to the development of tennis in Nigeria over the past decades.
