NUJ FCT Mourns Six Journalists in Tragic Crash

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, has expressed profound shock and deep sorrow over the untimely death of six journalists from the NUJ Gombe State Council, who lost their lives in a fatal motor accident while on official duty.

in a statement issued by the Council, the NUJ FCT described the fallen journalists as dedicated professionals and gallant practitioners who embodied the core values of journalism,nujfcttruth, courage, and service to humanity. Their deaths, the Council noted, represent a painful loss not only to their families and colleagues in Gombe State but to the entire NUJ family nationwide.

The Council extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the NUJ Gombe State Council, and all journalists affected by the tragedy, stating that the legacy of the departed colleagues—marked by fearless reporting and unwavering commitment to the public good—will continue to inspire the profession.

While acknowledging the irreplaceable void left by their passing, the NUJ FCT Council affirmed its solidarity with the Gombe State Council at this difficult time and prayed for divine comfort and strength for the families and colleagues of the deceased.

The Council also prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the departed journalists, commending them to the mercy of Almighty God.
