NYSC boss reaffirms commitment to scheme’s success

The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), in Nigeria, Brigadier General Mohammad Fada has reaffirmed his determination towards the success of the Scheme.

 

The Director General stated this during an interactive session with Staff at the NYSC South South; South East; and North Central Area offices in Delta, Enugu and Niger State Secretariats.

 

Brigadier General Fada who noted that little could be achieved without the support of members of Staff, urged them to familiarize themselves with the blueprint of his administration and increase the tempo of their individual and collective strides towards the success of the Scheme.

 

He enjoined all staff to brace up for the successful conduct of the forthcoming 2022 Batch ‘C’ Orientation Course, adding that every officer should perform assigned tasks with utmost dedication.

He also urged them to always pay attention to the welfare and security of Corps members; treat them with empathy and dignity as well as serve as role models for them.

 

The Director-General called for continuous branding of the NYSC, which is at the threshold of its golden jubilee, so as to sustain the public support it has been enjoying since coming into existence.

 

“I am aware of the challenges you face as is the case with every other organization. We will do everything within our means to address them and, where there is need for intervention of external stakeholders such as State Governments, we will continue to reach out to them,” he said.

 

Fadah assured that the Management was committed to making the Area Offices of the Scheme function optimally, especially in the area of field monitoring and evaluation.

 

During the interactions that featured in all the offices visited, members of Staff made suggestions on welfare and operational matters.

 

In their separate remarks, the Directors of the South South, South East and North Central Area Offices, Alhaji AbdulRasheed Sanusi; Mrs. Ngozi Nwatarali; and Mrs. Bolade Loto; as well as the Delta, Enugu and Niger State Coordinators, Mr. Olusegun Alao; Mr. Sam Ujogu; and Alhaji Hassan Taura all thanked the Director-General for the visit to their respective stations, noting that it would serve as morale booster for the staff.

 

They briefed him on the activities of the Area Offices and the State Secretariats while also seeking Management intervention on highlighted challenges.
