NYSC Director urges Corps members to embrace financial literacy

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has urged Corps members to avoid frivolous spending and embrace financial literacy.

The Director of North West Area Office (1) Kaduna, Mr. Kehinde Cole gave the advise while addressing members of the 2024 Batch B, Stream 2 Corps, who are currently undergoing their orientation course at Yikpata camp, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State.

He urged them to shun frivolous expenses and think of what they could do legitimately to earn more income.

The Director emphasized on the need for corps members to acquire any skill of their choice during the orientation course, reiterating that trainers on those skills were invited to camp at the expense of NYSC.

Cole further advised the corps members to continue with the skills acquired even after their orientation.

The Director also charged the Corps members to shun night journeys throughout their service year and even beyond.

Cole, used the medium to convey the goodwill message of the Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, who charged the corps members to be good ambassadors of their parents and even Nigeria which they are serving by shunning all forms of illegitimate gatherings.

He implored them to ensure active participation in all the camp activities.
