Eligible Prospective Corps Members have been urged to register for mobilisation with their National Identification Numbers (NIN) starting from 2024.
This was contained in a statement by the Director, Press and Public Relations of National Youths Service Corps, (NYSC) Mr. Eddy Megwa.
According to Mr. Megwa, the directive was part of the deliberations during the meeting of NYSC Management led by the Director General, Brigadier General Yushau’ Ahmed with the Management of National Identification Management Commission, led by its Director General, Abisoye Coker-Odusote in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Ahmed said; “the collaboration with NIMC on Corps member’s mobilisation would strengthen the online registration process for the Scheme.”
He added that the NYSC Integrated system that was introduced in 2014 has tremendously assisted the Scheme in its mobilization process, stressing that there is need for improvement.
In her remarks during the visit, the Director General of NIMC, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, reiterated the Commission’s readiness for collaboration between both agencies.
She lauded the NYSC mobilisation protocols and the Scheme’s efforts towards molding Corps members for leadership responsibilities for over 50 years of its operations.
The NIMC boss further stated that the synergy would simplify the entire mobilization.
He added that the Commission has partnered with other government agencies while promising to present the best services to the nation.
