The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC has urged Corps Members to utilise the opportunities of the three weeks Orientation Courses to foster national unity and integration among themselves irrespective of tribal and religious differences.

The Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Yushau’ Ahmed advised in his address to the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream One Corps Members undergoing Orientation at Kaduna State Temporary Orientation Camp at Government College, Kurmi Mashi, Kaduna, North West Nigeria.

He urged them to accept their deployment to Kaduna State in good faith, make friends during and after the Orientation Course and also respect the diverse cultures of residents of the State.

General Ahmed warned the Corps Members against night traveling while he also appealed to them to be security conscious at all times.

“Don’t travel at night and wherever you are posted to, try and be security conscious.

The essence of the service year is to expose you to different cultures apart from your own so that you can appreciate others”, he said.

The Director General warned the Corps Members against improper dressing adding that violators of NYSC-approved dress codes would be adequately sanctioned.

Speaking further, General Ahmed admonished them to acquire skills through the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development in-camp training programme and make themselves employers of labour.

While giving the camp situation report, the NYSC Kaduna State Coordinator, Mr. Hassan Taura said the Corps Members comprising 655 females and 766 males have all exhibited a high sense of discipline since the commencement of the Orientation Exercise.
