Fadah informed that “As foot soldiers of the scheme, Inspectors in the field are expected to be above board, knowledgeable and capable of producing desired results. Consequently, this Training Workshop is expected to provide the much needed platform to review past Inspection Exercises, as well as brainstorm on pathways to a more systematic and well organized activity”

“The training is designed to provide participants with adequate knowledge of the Inspection principles and procedures of the Scheme. It also aims to establish performance standards, sharpen and improve the appraisal skills of participants and engender self confidence in Inspectors in the course of performing their duties, hence the choice of the theme, “Effective and Efficient Inspection as a Panacea for Defective Corps Administration”.

” It is therefore my sincere hope that this training will also afford participants the opportunity to interact with each other, exchange ideas and proffer solutions capable of enhancing the inspection process”

GUIDELINES FOR EFFECTIVE INSPECTION

He said Corps inspection is a major avenue for direct interaction with corps members and their employers to know how they have settled down in their places of Primary Assignment and areas of challenges.

On her part, the NYSC State Mrs Mercy Bamai Dawuda said the training is apt and timely, coming at this period when it has become very imperative to train and re-train NYSC  Field Officers for effective and efficient Corps monitoring, inspection and administration.

Since the NYSC Area Office system was re-introduced into the Scheme’s operation, they have as one of their core mandates to inspect and monitor the activities of Corps members and the Officers at the Field and in-the course of doing that, there have been observed lapses in Corps administration by the Officers”

Bamai encouraged the field Officers to pay attention in the workshop.

The Participants, Mr Mordi Christopher and Barrister Oruna Juliet expressed joy over the training as it would enhance their performances.

The training is expected to end  tomorrow 9th of June, 2022.
