OdumoduBlvck Wins Leadership Newspaper’s 2024 Artist of the Year Award
In another remarkable achievement, hit-making rapper OdumoduBlvck has been awarded Leadership Newspaper’s Artist of the Year prize for 2024.
The accolade follows a landmark year for the rapper, who continued to enjoy commercial success, solidifying his position as the leading hip-hop artist on the continent.
Accompanied by his mother and the Anti-World Gangster crew, with whom he released a joint album in 2024, OdumoduBlvck received the award at a ceremony that celebrated his achievements.
This win comes just weeks after the release of his surprise project, The Machine Is Coming, a precursor to his highly anticipated album, Industry Machine. The 16-track mixtape features collaborations with Victony, Rondodasosa, Shallipopi, BOJ, and more. Among its tracks is the previously released single “Pity This Boy” featuring Victony, which has garnered 17 million Spotify streams and enjoyed commercial success.

The project follows his 2023 album Eziokwu, which produced hit records like “Blood On The Dance Floor,” “Declan Rice,” “Wotowoto Seasoning,” and “Dog Eat Dog II.”
Since breaking into the mainstream with his hit single “Picanto,” OdumoduBlvck has risen to become one of the most sought-after Nigerian musicians and the most prominent rapper in Africa. His music has also received praise from global hip-hop icons such as Stormzy, Skepta, and Rick Ross.
As 2025 unfolds, OdumoduBlvck is off to a strong start, securing 8 nominations at the 17th Headies Awards, including Next Rated, Rap Album of the Year, and Rap Song of the Year.
