The Ogun State Government has charged young entrepreneurs across the country to be prepared for opportunities at all times to avoid losing out when such opportunities manifest.

This charge was given by the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela when the Ogun Young Entrepreneurs, led by Solomon Yusuf paid him a courtesy visit to intimate him about the forthcoming Ogun Young Entrepreneurs Summit in his office in Abeokuta.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olu. Ola. Aikulola, the Commissioner said that the Prince Dapo Abiodun led government is always eager to support any laudable initiative, pointing out that engaging young people in gainful venture would  in no small measure promote economic activities and reduce social vices.

Sofela encouraged the young entrepreneurs to register with the Corporate Affairs Commission, and get their business profile on Ogun State Business Premises Permit Portal to qualify for government opportunities.

Expressing government support for the summit slated for June 2024, he assured that the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment would go all out to provide the needed guidance and moral backing for the success of the programme.

” If we do not assist you, it means we are not supporting the upcoming generation. With your efforts as young entrepreneurs, you are soaking in many graduates and finding comfort for them to create stability within the system.

“Get yourself ready for a lot of opportunities that will come your way. Encourage your fellow young ones to register with the Corporate Affairs Commission and try to register on the Ogun State Business Premises Permit Portal in order to be found available when opportunities come,” he said.

Speaking earlier, the Convener of the Summit and leader of the team, Yusuf, said the summit which is aimed at training and building young people is  targeted at 1500 young entrepreneurs from the 20 local government areas of the State  and 700 participants have registered already.
