As part of efforts to assist smallholder farmers and boost food production, the Ogun State Commissioner for Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Bolu Owotomo, has affirmed the present administration’s willingness to collaborate with the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN)/International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) project.

Hon. Owotomo gave the affirmation during a courtesy visit to his office in Oke-Mosan by members of the National Programme Management Unit of the FGN/IFAD Value Chain Development Programme, led by the National Programme Coordinator, Dr. Fatimah Aliu, on a technical implantation support to the state.

He noted that the programme was apt and in line with the ISEYA mantra of the state, saying the initiative would go a long way in positively impacting the lives of the smallholder farmers.

Furthermore, Dr. Fatimah Aliu explained that the objective of the project was to reach out to smallholder farmers in rice and cassava, noting that the project would further improve their income and productivity.
