Oladunjoye returns as Nigeria Triathlon Union President
Prince Wale Oladunjoye has been re-elected the President of the Nigeria Triathlon Union (NTU) in a poll held yesterday the boardroom of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), National Stadium, Lagos.
He was opposed but polled 14 votes in the election. Also, voted unopposed are first Vice President, Ize Matabese, second Vice President, Toyin Aluko, Secretary-General, Comfort Nwankwo and Priscilla Iroaganachi who was elected as the Treasurer. They also were unopposed but had 14 votes to their credit.
Oladunjoye stated that the focus of the board would be the welfare of the athletes while assuring that more competitions would be staged to help in the discovery of young talents that would fly Nigeria’s flag in international competitions.
He added that the NTU’s desire is to propagate sports so that it can get to every corner of the country. He also warned the athletes to stay away from performance-enhancing drugs because of their dangerous effects on the body.
He promised that the new executives would carry all stakeholders along in its drive to ensure the growth of the sport.
Speaking in the same vein, the Vice President stated that all hands were on deck to uplift the sports in the country.
