Speaking at the inauguration at Bwari Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Onaiyekan called for more support for the development of the university.

While underscoring the importance of education and seeking truth in a religious context, he encouraged wealthy individuals to use their resources for the greater good of humanity.

This, he said, would impact their reputations and relationship with God.

Onaiyekan described the university as one seeking to provide high-level education with spiritual and religious focus.

According to him, Nigeria is a beautiful country, notwithstanding the myriad of challenges it is currently facing, urging young people to contribute positively toward a better future.

Deputy Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Michael Sasa, expressed appreciation to all the supporters of the project and prayed God to bless them greatly.

In his goodwill message, the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Muhammad Pate, thanked Chuku for his contributions to the development of the university.

Represented by Dr Abdu Mukhtar, the Special Guest of Honour, Pate said that the gesture had motivated and challenged other professionals to find ways of contributing not only to learning institutions but broader community and national development.

On his part, Chuku, a Public Health Doctor, said that the initiative was his little way of giving back to the society, having been a product of a Catholic school.

While attributing his strength to his colleagues’ support, the benefactor pledged his continued support to the facility and the entire university community.

According to reports, Chuku has worked more than 20 years as one of Africa’s leading health economists and an international development expert in no fewer than 17 countries across the world.
