Ondo Election: DIG Inspects, Polling Units, Collation Centres
The Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Ondo State Gubernatorial Elections, DIG Sylvester Abiodun Alabi says he has conducted series of rigorous inspections of polling units and collation centres aimed at enhancing the integrity and transparency of the electoral process.
Fair and orderly manner
In a statement, the Force Public Relation Officer Assistant Commissioner of Police ACP, Muyiwa Adejobi, said these inspections aim to guarantee that all voting materials were accounted for, and that the counting and collation of votes were conducted in a fair and orderly manner.
ACP Adejobi also said the DIG further charged the officers deployed for election security to ensure a constant state of vigilance, restricting any unauthorised movement of persons in and out of the collation centres.
Officers ensured strict safety protocols to prevent potential disruptions or irregularities that could compromise the integrity of the elections, the statement reiterated.
The Nigeria Police Force reiterates its commitment to emplacing adequate security measures to ensure the electoral process is conducted free and fair.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, further assures members of the public, particularly the good citizens of Ondo State, of the highest standard of security throughout the electoral process and even afterwards.
