One Battle After Another Wins Best Picture at Oscars

The film ‘One Battle After Another’, featuring Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn, has emerged as the biggest winner at the Academy Awards after clinching the Best Picture award at the 2026 ceremony.

The awards, popularly known as The Oscars, were hosted by comedian and television personality Conan O’Brien and held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday night.

The political thriller, directed by Paul Anderson, also secured major honours including Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay, making it one of the standout films of the night.

The movie also secured Best Supporting Actor for Sean Penn and Best Film Editing, thereby making it one of the most decorated films of the night.

In the acting category, Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor for his role in the movie ‘Sinners’, which had a record of 16 nominations, as the movie also won Best Original Screenplay, Best Original Score and Best Cinematography.

The Best Actress went to Jessie Buckley for her performance in ‘Hamnet’, making her the first Irish performer to win the category and Amy Madigan won the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in the movie ‘Weapons’.

In other categories, ‘Sentimental Value’ won Best International Feature Film, while the animated feature ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ won the award for Best Animated Feature.

According to reports, the award which is organised annually by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences celebrate excellence in the global film industry and remains one of the most prestigious honours in cinema.
