The Nigeria Police Force in Kano says its special operation code-named “Operation Kukan Kura” has recorded significant successes in boosting peace and security across the state.
Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, told journalists at the Bompai Police Headquarters that the achievements in September reflect the Force’s proactive strategy under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.
Bakori explained that the operation is anchored on community partnership, intelligence-gathering, and technology-driven policing to dismantle criminal networks and prevent threats.
He said; “We remain committed to protecting lives and property and to working with all stakeholders to make Kano and by extension Nigeria safer.
“Through collaboration with the public and the dedication of our personnel, we have dismantled criminal networks and prevented potential threats.”
The CP stressed that the command is prioritising the IGP’s directive for proactive policing ahead of the fourth quarter of the year, which is often marked by heavy commercial activity and festivities.
He urged citizens to sustain their cooperation by providing credible information that would help security agencies consolidate the gains made so far.
Bakori also commended the media for their role in keeping Nigerians informed and in boosting public confidence in security agencies.
Security analysts say “the success of Operation Kukan Kura highlights the growing effectiveness of intelligence-led, community-based policing and offers a model that could be replicated nationwide to curb crime.”
