The Chief of Protocols and Deputy Chief of Staff to the governor of Anambra State, Chief Chinedu Nwoye, known as Glamour, has made a bold declaration that criminals will no longer find refuge in Anambra State.
This announcement comes as the state is set to launch the comprehensive security initiative known as Operation “Udo Ga Achi”(peace shall reign) on Saturday.
In an interview with Voice of Nigeria in Awka, the state capital, Glamour expressed the government’s firm stance in eradicating criminals that have been wreaking havoc on innocent citizens.
He emphasized that the government is deeply saddened by the loss of innocent lives at the hands of these criminals and is determined to put an end to the violence and chaos they have caused.
While acknowledging that insecurity is a nationwide issue, Glamour highlighted Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s commitment to ending kidnappings and other heinous crimes in Anambra State.
He noted that the governor has taken significant steps to introduce a holistic security approach to ensure the safety of lives and property in the state.
Glamour also extended sympathy to families who have been affected by the violence, noting that the government has made efforts to rescue victims and honor fallen heroes. He pointed out that insecurity has been exacerbated by certain events like the End-Sars protests and the subsequent destruction of police stations, leading to an influx of criminals into the state.
Reflecting on the state’s past challenges with insecurity, Glamour recalled instances where local governments were under siege and political activities were disrupted. He emphasized Governor Soludo’s proactive approach to tackling insecurity since assuming office.
Looking ahead, Glamour expressed confidence in the success of Operation Udo Ga Achi and stressed the importance of citizen cooperation in combating criminal activities.
He assured the public that the government is dedicated to restoring peace and security in Anambra State through the launch of various security measures.
Glamour further stressed the government’s unwavering commitment to combating criminal elements and called for collective efforts from all stakeholders to ensure the success of Operation Udo Ga Achi noting that the launch of the initiative marks a significant step towards achieving a peaceful and secure environment for all residents of Anambra State.
