Organisations move to enhance good governance in Nigeria

Non Governmental Organisations, NGOs and Civil Society Organizations, CSOs in Ebonyi State have come together to ensure good governance, democracy and to protect the girl child  rights in the State and Nigeria at large.

 

The Ebonyi State Coordinator, Coalition of Civil Society Organisations, Dr Kelechi Okezie disclosed this to Journalists after their meeting in Abakaliki the State Capital.

Dr Okezie who is also the Executive Director, Neighborhood Environment Watch Foundation, “this meeting of the coalition of CSOs and NGOs in the State are Coming up stronger to hold Government accountable  for good governance, we are determined to be monitoring their promises to ensure they  give the best to the people.”

 

He said all the CSOs and NGOs in the State are poised to ensure that people get what is due for them from government and to contribute their own ideas on how to move Nigeria forward.

 

He thanked all their members for their efforts so far.

 

On her part, the Executive Director of Daughters of Venture Empowerment Initiative DOVENET, Mrs Ugo Nnachi said the essence of the Coalition was to know how they could bring their ideas to support government to make the state better and to ensure that government delivers good governance and dividends to the people.

 

“Daughters of Venture Empowerment Initiative DOVENET as NGO works with communities to ensure democracy, Healthcare, education because we want our girl children to be educated and be useful in the society,” Nnachi explained.

 

She informed that DOVENET also fight for women’s rights, girl child school dropout, to eliminate child abuse and gender based violence of any kind.

 

She thanked all her members who have contributed in one way or the other to give women their rights.
