Ortom Attack: North-Central Governors call for thorough investigation

The North-Central Governors Forum of Nigeria, (NCGF), has called for a thorough investigation on the attempted assassination of their Benue State counterpart Samuel Ortom.
The Chairman of The North-Central Governors forum, Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger State, in a statement to Voice of Nigeria, through his Spokesperson, Mary Noel Berje, described as dangerous this dimension of insecurity in the country, adding that something urgent and drastic must be done collectively to curtail the situation which he said is a threat to the nation’s corporate coexistence.
“This issue of insecurity in our nation needs all and sundry to be collectively responsible in addressing it irrespective of religious, ethnic and political affiliations,” he said.
The NCGF, who applauded the efforts of the security details of Governor Ortom at ensuring his safety and other members of his entourage, said the Forum is in solidarity with Governor Ortom and the entire people of Benue State.
The Chairman of the NCGF and Governor of Niger State enjoined the security agents in the country not to relent in their efforts to secure the lives and property of the citizens.
