Oshoba Thrilled After IBO Title Win
Nigerian boxer, Elizabeth Oshoba, is delighted to have won the International Boxing female super-featherweight title after she defeated Italian, Martina Reighi, on Saturday.
In her debut title fight during her sixth professional bout, the 2022 Commonwealth Games silver medalist exhibited sheer determination, clinching a resounding unanimous decision victory over Reighi at the MECA Regent Circus in Swindon, Wilshire, United Kingdom.
The 23-year-old Nigerian has further solidified her unbeaten streak, tallying an impressive record of six wins, including three knockout victories.
“I feel excited and thank God for the successful win,” Oshoba told pressmen.
“Yes, of course, I feel on top of the world. I am very happy with this title, it is my first title but I am still focused and I can’t wait to fight more world title fights and win more belts.”
Following the remarkable victory, Oshoba, along with her team, celebrated the monumental win with an after-party organized by her manager saying, “My manager organised an after party and it was a good one and fun. It was at a big club in Swindon”
Reflecting on the intense fight, Oshoba acknowledged the challenging nature of the bout, emphasizing her meticulous preparation for any kind of opponent.
“It wasn’t easy though, but I am fully prepared for any kind of opponent. Training is always good and the camp helped me a lot. I knew I was going to be announced the winner once the fight ended,” she said.
Oshoba (5-0-0-3KOs) recently defeated Italian Nadia Flalhi (5-3-0-1KOs) on points in a six-round featherweight clash on September 30 and in March, she beat Kirsty Hill by points 58-56 making it three fights in ten months.
