Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has expressed his delight in playing alongside Spain international Álvaro Morata, hinting at more playing time with the former Real Madrid and Chelsea forward.

Osimhen was the hero for Galatasaray in their hard-fought 2-1 victory over Alanyaspor on Sunday, scoring the winning goal with a well-placed header. The strike took his tally to 17 goals this season in the Super Lig, helping his side maintain their lead at the top of the table.

Osimhen Hails Morata’s Influence

Speaking to Turkish media outlet Fanatik, Osimhen praised Morata’s experience and attacking intelligence, emphasizing their growing chemistry on the pitch.

“Playing with Morata was incredible. He is an experienced player with a great understanding of attacking play and a strong team mentality,” Osimhen said.

“I’m very happy to play alongside him, and we hope to have a season where both of us score plenty of goals.”

Morata’s Arrival Boosts Galatasaray’s Attack

Morata joined Galatasaray from AC Milan in January and has since made three league appearances, scoring one goal. Meanwhile, Osimhen has been in top form, recording 17 goals and four assists in 21 Super Lig matches.

However, it remains uncertain whether both players will remain in Turkey next season, with Osimhen heavily linked with a move to the Premier League.

Osimhen’s Future: Premier League Move on the Horizon?

The Nigerian forward is widely expected to leave Napoli after the 2024/25 season, with Manchester United and Arsenal reportedly keen on securing his services. Arsenal is said to be ready to trigger his €75 million release clause, while United remains strongly linked with a summer move.

Focus Shifts to Super Eagles Duty

Osimhen will now turn his attention to international duty with Nigeria. The Super Eagles are set to face Rwanda in Kigali on Friday, March 21, before hosting Zimbabwe on Tuesday, March 25.

The 26-year-old, who missed the first four games of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers due to injury, is yet to make an appearance at the global tournament. He will be eager to help Nigeria secure qualification and avoid missing out on a second consecutive World Cup.
