The Government of Osun State in southwest Nigeria has vowed to stimulate more economic actions in the state by building new roads and completing other critical projects in the state.

Governor of the state, Ademola Adeleke, made the vow on Monday during the flag off of the dualization of Ila township road and Osogbo-Ikirun-Ila-Odo road.

The Governor said his administration was resolute in opening up Osun state through road infrastructure to ease movement of goods and people, stressing its impact on all sectors of the state economy.

He said: “I am glad that we are here today to flag off the dualization of the Ila Township road project despite the lingering uncertainties in the nation.

“I have vowed to my God and the good people of the State that I am committed to serving them, and I will never be distracted from my vow to serve the people of the State.

“We are determined, and we are pushing ahead with the mega projects. I assure the public that our administration will not leave any project uncompleted,” he assured.

The Governor, while disclosing that his government had completed the reconstruction, rehabilitation and renovation of over 175 kilometers of road, said other projects were at various stages of completion.

“The Ilesa dualization project is 78 per cent completed; the Ile-Ife flyover project is 75 per cent completed; the Oke-Fia flyover is over 95 per cent done, while the LAMECO flyover is about 55 per cent executed.

“I am equally glad to inform this august gathering that the 1.5 kilometres across all the Local Government Areas of the State are almost completed in their entirety. The Oke Gada bridge is 100 per cent complete.

“For the records, we have completed the construction of about 2Km lengths of Oba Jinsin/Ita Obajoko road, Ogunlade Junction – Kamila Junction road and Ajagunla Street. Also, 1.8Km length of the rehabilitation/construction of Aregun Junction – Ogunlolu road has also been completed in Ila,” Adeleke said.

In a related development, Governor Adeleke also flagged off the second phase of the dualization of Osogbo-Ikirun-Ila Odo road, a project which traverses Osogbo, Ikiru, Inisha, Okuku, Ijabe and terminates at Ila Odo.

According to the Governor, the 39km road is of paramount importance to the administration because it connects about six towns in the state.

“It is believed that the completion of the dualization of Osogbo-Ikirun-Inisha-Okuku – Ijabe and finally Ila Odo, which is the boundary town with our neighbouring Kwara State, a total length of 39km is of paramount importance to this administration, and I am committed to the completion of this project by the grace of God.”

Adeleke promised to deliver the road project within twelve months, tasking the people on protecting the projects and supporting the government.
