Osun Governor Signs 2025 Appropriation Bill Into Law

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State in southwest Nigeria has signed the state’s 2025 Appropriation Bill into law, tagging it a “Budget of Sustainable Growth and Transformation.

The Osun governor signed the budget on Monday at the Executive Lounge of the State Council Chamber in Osogbo, the state capital.

According to the governor, signing the budget demonstrated his administration’s readiness to forge ahead in the new year with the growth and development of the state.

He said, “The total sum for the 2025 budget is Four Hundred and Twenty-Seven Billion, Seven Hundred and Forty-Six Million, Nine Hundred and Twenty-Five Thousand, One Hundred and Seventy Naira (₦427,746,925.170.00).”

The Governor, who directed all ministries, departments, and agencies of government in the state to diligently implement the budget, emphasised the need for it to touch the lives of the people.

He said, “Consequently, I direct Ministries, Agencies and Departments to vigorously pursue the implementation for the benefit of the citizens of the state. Our budget performance must continue to be commendable every quarter. 

“I further direct the Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget and Development to, as usual, monitor the implementation process for delivery according to targets and expectations,” the Governor ordered.

Governor Adeleke lauded the sense of duty of the State House of Assembly, led by its Speaker, Rt. Honourable Adewale Egbedun, over the quick passage of the budget.

He also commended the Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget and Development for the work done on the budget and for upholding professionalism all the way.

The governor assured residents of the state that the budget would meet them at the points of their needs, vowing to use the document to deliver on his five-point agenda for good governance in the state.

“To Osun people, I assure you that this budget will be rigorously implemented to deliver on your expectations. The Appropriation Act will be our faithful instrument to deliver on the five-point agenda for good governance,” he concluded.
