Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, is set to showcase his performance scorecard preparatory to marking his second year in office by unveiling completed projects across the state.

Adeleke’s government whose tenure will clock two years on November 27, 2024 has listed for commissioning a number of projects completed within its first 24 months at the helm.

While addressing a press conference on Friday, the Secretary to Osun State Government and Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Alhaji Teslim Igbalaye, said the anniversary programme would span three weeks and all the projects would be unveiled during the festivities.

The SSG explained that despite paucity of funds, the Adeleke administration had been able to deliver a four year mandate in two years and he credited the positive turnaround across all sectors in the state to the Governor’s leadership style.

Igbalaye noted that the past two years of Governor Adeleke’s administration had been eventful and extraordinary, marked by strategic thinking and spirited efforts to deliver on the promises made to the people.

He said: “We are not using this anniversary to campaign for 2026. We are using it to showcase what the administration has done in the last two years. This is the time to let the public know what the government has done.

“Election is in the next two years, but for now, the governor is focused on his work. This is not the time to campaign, when that time comes, the performance of the governor will speak for itself,” he added.

The Planning Committee Chairman also hinted that former Nigeria’s President Olusegun Obasanjo will commission the Old-Garage-Okefia Lameco dual carriage road, while the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde will commission the Osogbo Ring-Road.

Igbalaye added that there will also be the commissioning of Focal Health Centres, Igbajo-Iresi township road, Telemu-Ashamu road, Egedi road as well as the unveiling of Cooperative College at Ode-Omu.

He also announced that the state government will disburse a total of N1.8 billion Bond to pensioners in the state, while micro-credit cheques will, in addition, be distributed to entrepreneurs in the state.

The Planning Committee Chairman confirmed that the second year anniversary will be marked by other events such as media engagement, state award presentation, prayer sessions and novelty matches among others.
