Osun State Governorship primaries: SDP flag bearer emerges

The Social Democratic Party, SDP, has declared Arc. Goke Omigbodun, the flag bearer of the Osun State 2022 Governorship Primaries Election.

In a statement, the National Publicity Secretary, SDP, said that the party had accepted the results of the primaries election in Osun State, Southwest Nigeria.

“Following the receipt of the Formal Report of the three-man National Electoral Committee headed by the National Legal Adviser of the Party, Barrister Joseph Achile Abu, the National Working Committee, NWC, of the Party at its Meeting of March 14, 2022, accepted the results of the Primaries presented by the Chairman of the Electoral Committee,” he disclosed.

In line with this decision, the NWC, therefore, further resolved:

_That they conducted the Primary Election in line with the Approved Electoral Guidelines and the Constitution of the Party (2018, as Amended).

_ That they credibly conducted the exercise under accredited INEC officials’ supervision.

_ That Arc. Oyegoke Akinrinola Omigbodun was the winner of the election and, therefore, the lawfully nominated candidate and returned elected.

Mr. Aiyenigba, therefore, solicited for the support of the SDP in Osun State, Southwest Nigeria, to Converse for votes for Omigbodun.

“The entire SDP family in Osun State is urged to galvanise themselves into a result-oriented united front to work vigorously and mobilize great support for Arc. Goke Omigbodun as the party’s candidate towards his emergence as the next governor of Osun State to allow the SDP to implement its people-centred development agenda based on principles of social justice to make life better and truly meaningful for the people of Osun State at the shortest time possible.”

Recall that the party conducted its primaries election in the state on March 12, 2022.
