The Oyo State Internal Revenue Service (OYIRS) has warned that there would be no extension in the deadline for the filing of 2023 Annual Tax Returns.
The Executive Chairman, OYIRS, Mr Adebowale Awakan, gave the warning in a statement from his office.
He advised employers of labour, company owners, or their representatives, to file their 2023 Annual Tax Returns before January 31st, 2024, noting that the filing of tax returns is a law that all employers of labour must obey.
Awakan warned that non-compliance would attract penalties, including a fine of N500,000 for corporate bodies, disclosing that individuals are given till March 31st, 2024 to file the returns on their direct assessment.
He added that non-compliance also attracts penalties, noting that all returns are to be filed online via the self-service platform, urging residents to kindly log on to the self services website to upload their returns.
