The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde has assured the people that if he is re-elected, his effort would centre on sustainable development and consolidation of gains already recorded under the Omituntun 1.0.

Omituntun 1.0 refers to the Governor’s first term in office.

The Governor spoke on Monday, when he took his campaign to the Irepo Local Government Area of the state where he promised to enhance economic viability by linking the old Irepo and old Ifedapo axes.

Governor Makinde also praised his Deputy, Bayo Lawal, saying he is a trustworthy man, who had been a good representative of the people of Oke-Ogun in general and Kishi, in particular.

Addressing the non-indigenes resident at Sooro Village, he stated that if he is re-elected, he would implement Omituntun 2.0.

He urged residents of the council to elect candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the National Assembly, governorship and State House of Assembly elections, stressing that his administration had achieved quite a lot in the last 44 months.

Governor Makinde said: “In our next administration, economically, the old Irepo and old Ifedapo will be closely linked together. This is the only place we have started intra-zonal linkage. In all other places, we have been linking one zone with another because of the economy of Saki which we want to turn to a major economic hub.”

Representatives of the traditional council, religious and community leaders commended Governor Makinde for choosing one of the children of Kishi to be the Deputy Governor.

They pledged to work for the success of his second term bid.
