Thousands of supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, held a solidarity walk across major streets of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, for the Tinubu/Shettima presidential bid at the forthcoming general elections.
The supporters, who converged on the party’s Secretariat in Oke-Ado as early as 8am, on Tuesday, in a rally that nearly shutdown the ancient city, walked across major roads in the city from Molete to Beere, Agodi-Gate, Mokola, Dugbe and back to Oke Ado, carrying placards with various inscriptions expessing their love for the former Lagos State governor.
At the rally, which began around 11:00am and was attended by several politicians and candidates contesting for different positions in the state under the APC, the party governorship candidate in the state, Teslim Folarin, said the APC would leave no stone unturned in taking over from the incumbent Governor Seyi Makinde of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), calling on residents in the state to vote in Tinubu as President in 2023.
The State Chairman of the APC, Isaac Omodewu, thanked the supporters of the party and urged members of the public not to be intimidated by any threat from the ruling party in the state, saying the APC was prepared to take over from the PDP in the state.
