Oyo State To Clampdown On Tricyclists Without Permit
The Oyo State Road Traffic Management Authority (OYRTMA) says tricycle riders, must get a hackney permit, and revenue ticket to operate in the State.
This warning was given by OYRTMA Chairman, Major Adesagba Adekoya (rtd) in Ibadan, the State Capital.
Major Adesagba noted that tricycle riders who are fond of defacing their windscreens with different stickers apart from hackney permits and revenue tickets will be apprehended.
He noted that unnecessary stickers on windscreens are one of the factors that cause accidents on the roads.
The Chairman added that the safety of lives and property is an obligation of all stakeholders and road users.
Adesagba also said roadside automobile mechanics sighted around Aliwo road and Agodi gate Ibadan to vacate the premises immediately.
He frowned at the unwholesome act by the mechanics, saying their acts constituted safety hazards and environmental infractions in the area.
